Phil Cook & His Feat join the Trekky Family, featured at SXSW showcase

"Hungry Mother Blues" will be released on May 10, 2011 by
Trekky Records
It was officially announced this morning that Phil Cook, of Megafaun fame, was the newest addition to the Trekky Records family.  This wasn't the only thing that Trekky dropped on us though this morning, they also announced that Phil's new record, "Hungry Mother Blues", would be released on May 10, 2011 with Trekky's signature LP + CD + MP3 package deal.

Phil Cook recorded "Hungry Mother Blues" in one day, hulling up in his house during an icestorm.  Judging from the first single, "Ballad of a Hungry Mother" (which you can listen to right here), we'll be getting much more of what we heard on Cook's first recordings with this project, soulful, soothing instrumental folk sounds that leave the listener stunned at how effortless it all seems to Phil.

The record jacket features original artwork from Midtown Dickens' own Catherine Edgerton and will be pressed at 45 RPM.

Also, Phil Cook & His Feat will be joining many of his new label mates at SXSW for the showcase presented by Trekky Records and Hopscotch Music Festival, "Carolina Jubilee".  Record labels 307 Knox, Holidays for Quince, and Churchkey are also co-sponsors for this SXSW day party.  The show is free to everyone and includes free beer! The lineup is as followed:
