Moogfest 2011 announces lineup

Passion Pit will headline Moogfest 2011 along with
The Flaming Lips, Tangerine Dream, Crystal Castles and more

Last year's Moogfest sent waves through the Carolina music scene, popping up the same year as Raleigh's Hopscotch Festival, it was excellent to see two stacked lineups for these brand new North Carolina festivals.  This year is much of the same, as the October 28-30 Asheville festival announced their lineup this morning with headliners of The Flaming Lips, Passion Pit, Tangerine Dream, Ghostland Observatory, and Crystal Castles.


This year's lineup boasts a solid under card to match the big name headliners of this year's festival, classic acts like Suicide and Tangerine Dream will be making a rare US performance for the festival along with big up-and-coming names like Battles, Toro Y Moi, Chromeo, Twin Shadow, and Gold Panda.  Moogfest has gotten together another stellar lineup full of some of the best electronic artists around.  This year's Moogfest will feature performances from over sixty stellar artists amongst numerous venues in downtown Asheville such as the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium,  the Asheville Civic Center, and The Orange Peel.  The festival will be home to workshops, talks, art exhibitions, and much more.

Tickets for Moogfest 2011 go on sale on Friday, June 4 at noon.  Weekend festival passes start at $149.50 plus fees and include two levels of prices as well at $184.50 and $199.50.  Last year's festival did sell out, so jump on these tickets while you can.  If you can't afford it up front then you can pay in $50 increments with Moogfest's payment plan.  VIP tickets are also available for $379.50.  More ticket and lineup information can be found on Moogfest's Website.
