Titus Andronicus is one of the 14 new bands added to the Hopscotch lineup |
The new venue announced is The Union, found in Raleigh's warehouse district and fitting with the theme of closely knit venues all within walking distance. A new venue and over a dozen new bands is an announcement I've certainly welcomed, especially considering the bands already on the lineup were pretty phenomenal. The schedule shows some excellent lineups for some excellent locations throughout the weekend, standouts being a Lonnie Walker curated bill at Kings which consists of Dinosaur Feathers, Grandchildren, Woodsmen, and Lower Dens all playing with Lonnie Walker. Another exciting venue is Fletcher Auditorium, the beautiful 600 capacity room which includes acts like Swans, Lost in the Trees, Bombadil, and Julianna Barwick.
Tickets are still on sale for Hopscotch with 3-day passes including City Plaza shows running at $105 and club shows at $65. Alternatively you could also just buy City Plaza passes, priced at $32 for Guided By Voices, Drive-By Truckers, and The Dodos and $34 for The Flaming Lips, Superchunk, and The Light Pines. There are a limited number of all-show passes so get them while you can. Below is the list of the 14 new bands added to the lineup.
