This Saturday, Butterflies will be celebrating their album release with a very special show at The Cat's Cradle...and a free one at that! Butterflies are coming out with 4 other fantastic bands from the area to give you a free night of amazing local music, AND a chance to pick up their new record "Residual Child". The lineup at the Cradle on Saturday will feature Wes Phillips, Cassis Orange, Erie Choir, The Strugglers, and Butterflies, quite the array of bands from the area.
Butterflies' new album, "Residual Child" is released on November 23, but you can pick it up at the show in Trekky's nifty LP + CD + MP3 package for only $12. Their new albums marks the beginning of a new sound for Butterflies, one that provides much more mature and developed songs thanks to the help of new band member, Patrick Jones, and the natural progression of Josh Kimbrough's songwriting. But not only do you have all of this Butterflies' goodness going around, but you get the chance to see one of the Triangle's finest rising acts, Cassis Orange. Cassis Orange absolutely blew me away with their performance at Troika, and Autumn Ehinger's honest, heartfelt, but danceable pop tunes will suck you right in too. Not to mention the brilliant sounds of The Strugglers, an Americana band with an accompanying strings section and a knack for writing amazing songs that convey a vast level of emotions, will also be playing on Saturday night. Rounding up the lineup with Erie Choir and Wes Phillips, this album release show is going to be a show that you DON'T want to miss this weekend. Check out these five awesome bands for free and pick up Butterflies' new record, "Residual Child" for $12!
